Section Key 8

What would you risk for the sake of Scouting and the Order of the Arrow? Take a minute to think about that. Here in New England, we are blessed and cursed with the gift of very apparent changes of seasons. From sunny summer to freezing winter, we New Englanders weather just about anything that comes our way. With that being said, the Section NE-1A Key Leadership meeting last Saturday was no exception. Amidst snow, wind, and harsh driving conditions, the leadership team met to continue planning out the 2012 QLS and Conclave among other topics of discussion.

“Bind Us As Brothers” will be instrumental in the Quality Lodge Summit 2012 program, as the concept of Brotherhood in our Order will be deeply explored. From 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 11th, participants will be able to enjoy a day of effective training and interact with Arrowmen from all over. At the Key Leadership meeting, the final stages of planning were set in place for this great event, so be sure not to miss it!

“The Words We Speak” will define Conclave 2012, and many plans are already in place for an amazing Conclave weekend from June 8th to June 10th at Camp Resolute. Host Lodge Chippanyonk Lodge and Conclave Coordinator Chris Gadd have been hard at work to prepare the camp to host over 300 of our fellow Brothers, so keep an eye out for more information soon! Registration for Conclave will open in late February.

Along with these two topics, the Section budget and registration policies were ironed out to be more precise. Conversations about upcoming Regional and National events such as the National Leadership Seminar (NLS) and National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) were also mentioned. More on all of this information will be presented at QLS 2012!

We are very excited to present our Quality Lodge Summit program to you in just over two weeks. In its final year of existence, we will remember the rich history of QLS as we venture into new programs related to Journey to Excellence. I hope to see many of you very soon at the QLS (qls.ne1a.org); sign up today!
