Final Quality Lodge Summit concludes successfully

The Section NE-1A Council of Chiefs will meet during the 2012 Section NE-1A Quality Lodge Summit to review national, regional and lodge updates, plan for the 2012 Section Conclave and to review the Section Committee Reports. The COC will meet at 11:30pm during the lunch break. Arrowmen may still register for the 2012 Section NE-1A Quality Lodge Summit. This year’s Quality Lodge Summit has the ability to serve up to 150 Arrowmen from around Section NE-1A. Be sure to sign up today.

181. That’s how many days there are until the 2012 Section NE-1A Conclave as of the day of this post. The Council of Chiefs is preparing for conclave, and is getting very excited! The menu has been chosen! Other than delicious, what is it exactly? For lunch on Saturday there will be cold cuts. For dinner, we will be having chicken parmesan followed by delicious chocolate chip cookies. With the New Year approaching, the service lodge is working diligently to ensure the best conclave ever!

Have you ever wanted to attend a High Adventure program, but didn’t have a group to go with or thought it was too expensive? Next summer, members of Section NE-1A will have the chance to participate in an exciting opportunity; be a part of a high adventure crew out of Maine High Adventure. All you need to do is be a member of any Lodge within Section NE-1A and have the desire to spend time with other people from around the Section in the northern Maine woods.

2011 Northeast Region Gathering of Leaders

On the weekend of November 4th through November 6th, Section Officers and Advisers from across the Northeast Region gathered at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation in Schuylkill Haven, PA for the 2011 NER Gathering of Leaders (GOL). This event was the pilot course from the former Section Officer’s Seminar (SOS), and was a great way to join Officers and Advisers in Brotherhood for a weekend of interactive training and fellowship. Even before the event began on Friday, things were moving around and changing.

Council of Chiefs Meeting - October 29, 2011

At the Council of Chiefs meeting on October 29th, the COC collectively sat down and made some important progress on the road to planning for the 2012 NE-1A events. Among many other tasks, the youth provided input for the Quality Lodge Summit (QLS) 2012 theme and voted for the Conclave 2012 theme. This important step will mark the beginning of the next few months of extensive planning leading up to the 2012 calendar year.

In just a little over a week, the COC will be meeting in Portsmouth, NH to discuss plans for the 2012 Section NE-1A year. Lodge Chiefs, Section Committee Chairmen, Section Officers, and Advisers will gather at the Portsmouth Community Campus from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM on October 29th in order to map out the road to the 2012 NE-1A Conclave.

In 2013, 40,000 Scouts will arrive at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve ready for adventure, fellowship, excitement, and the time of their lives as they spend 10 days at the National Scout Jamboree. Are you excited too? The Order of the Arrow is recruiting 700 youth Arrowmen to join the Project 2013 Corps to serve on the OA Service Corps, the Day of Service Guides, and the Jamboree Trek Guides.

Northeast Region to host National Leadership Seminar

The Northeast Regions is hosting its last National Leadership Seminar of the year this fall from September 16-18, 2011 at Camp Alpine, Alpine New Jersey. This weekend long seminar is designed to help Arrowmen grow and develop as a leader. Led by the Northeast Region Chief and staff from around the region, the National Leadership Seminar is one of the premier trainings for Arrowmen in the Boy Scouts of America.
